Instructor, Spiritual Mentor
It is a great honor for me to write to you today on behalf of Sarah Smith. During Sarah's time as a Biblical Literature major at Indiana Wesleyan University, it was my pleasure to have her as a student in multiple biblical language classes. In these challenging classes, Sarah consistently demonstrated her academic excellence and passion for learning with an enthusiasm and vivacity that was truly contagious, for both myself and her fellow students. With a very humble, gentle spirit, Sarah was a leader in every class. By asking insightful questions of the biblical text, she motivated other students to go deeper; by working hard with no complaining, she encouraged others to stick with it; and by giving words of praise and noticing others' contributions, she inspired success and raised the level of performance for everyone. In all of these ways and so many more, Sarah was one of those rare, exceptional students whom a teacher never forgets. In considering her for an RD position, I can attest to the fact that Sarah would be a joy to work with for both faculty and staff.
Relationally, it is my opinion that Sarah is very mature, and she relates to others with a genuineness of spirit and an effortless ease that draw people to her. She is a loving and caring young woman who is sensitive to and concerned about those she encounters. In addition, Sarah's life evidences a strong commitment to the Lord and his Word. The combination of this relational maturity and deep personal faith makes Sarah an ideal candidate for a leader in Residence Life at Taylor.
It is my hope that these thoughts have given you clear insights concerning Sarah's character and personality. If you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. As I state previously, Sarah is indeed an exceptional young woman, and I give this character reference with great pleasure and no reservations whatsoever.
